 Dr Lena Paul

Chartered Clinical Psychologist 

With ten years experience of working within the NHS, Lena is trained in offering assessments and treatments to adults with a range of difficulties and severity. She specialises as a Cognitive Behavioural Therapist and is a trained EMDR Therapist with additional training to provide Narrative Exposure Therapy; she has particular interest in working with PTSD and complex trauma and bereavement. She has also trained in third wave CBT approaches such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Compassion Focused therapy (CFT) and is a qualified and experienced at delivering CBT based group therapy interventions.

Alexander Sim 

Senior Cognitive Behavioural Therapist

Alex has ten years of experience working at various levels within the NHS and non-profit organizations. He uses the most up to date evidence based CBT interventions and as a mindfulness practitioner, he integrates this into his work. He is known for the warmth, calm and kindness he brings to therapy.

Medico-Legal Experience

Alex has extensive experience in compiling medico-legal reports. He has compiled reports on various topics including immigration / refugee status, road traffic accidents, personal injury, specific phobias (e.g. blood, injury or injection phobia), work related issues, probation, marital / divorce and academic issues.

Experience and Accreditation

  • Alex has been an accredited Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist with the BABCP (British Association of  Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies) since 2011 and qualified in Dialectical Behavioural Therapy training in 2016.
  • He currently works as a Senior Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist at the National Specialist  OCD & BDD Service at Springfield Hospital (NHS) providing specialist CBT and supervision for OCD, BDD, hoarding and other complex anxiety disorders.
  • Group CBT and Anger Management are other areas of expertise and interest and Alex has presented on  these topics at the BABCP Conference in 2014 and 2015 respectively.
